The Firm
The origin of the law firm goes back to the mid 1960s when Cardy Pursel joined the
late Dale Derr in the little brick building at 238 Market Street next to the Post
Office on a practice sharing basis. In the late 1970s a formal partnership was
established and Al Luschas came on board. With the addition of Gary Norton and a
growing staff, the Main Street office was opened in 1985. Noah Naparsteck became an
associate with the firm in 1998 and was made a partner in 2005. Although Gary Norton
took office as District Attorney for Columbia County in the beginning of 2004, he
still maintains a full workload acting as counsel to the law firm. The firm welcomed Melissa Norton as a
partner in the beginning of 2004. Brian Crane joined the firm as an associate in
2004.
